Amen to that!I'm actually having a better time so far in my new placement, but I also absolutely can NOT wait for my very own class. I guess we'll just keep noting the things we "will" and "will not" do! ;D Hang in there, we're almost certified!

In retrospect I must that my frustration got the best of me. In my heart I would like to work on the student advisory board as our PSP. I think the entire project should focus on setting up the board, i.e deciding how the board will function, projects it can take on, etc. I feel bad about our final decision because of the reasons stated in your blog, but sadly enough I think the hunger project is the only thing we can half way agree on as a cohort.

I agree. However, it seems to me that teachers and administration get upset when parents do not get involved and they get upset when parents do get involved. I ultimately believe that it is truly the parents responsibility to make the final rule on what their children are exposed to.

Understanding that we are trying to make a positive change in children’s lives, we will still work for the state. So yes, teaching is political. I agree that teaching is very moral. We do not teach religion in school, yet we impose our cultural morals. To save the best for last, I agree that teaching is very emotional. I want to save the world and I am sad that I cannot do this alone. I can only hope to at least be a part of the group that makes positive radical changes to our public school system.
